Championing Digital Rights
The Uproar project explores digital rights and supports internet freedom in 34 target countries across Africa, MENA region and Central Asia. We advocate for these rights at the Universal Periodic Review, a mechanism of the UN Human Rights Council where UN member states can review and scrutinise the human rights records of fellow member states.
Advocacy
We work with local organisations to ensure they feel confident & empowered to develop long term advocacy plans around the UPR and engage with and build on past successes.
Research
We work with digital rights organisations to document urgent internet freedom challenges experienced by citizens, activists and journalists to submit at the UPR.
Design
Our information designers help advocates communicate their key messages and research findings to advocacy targets in new and visually innovative ways.
Global Voices
A global network of activists and journalists dedicated to protecting freedom of expression and free access to information online.
